Here we are... touched down in Hong Kong and safely checked into an astonishing hotel. The journey was long and tiring, we were delayed by an hour because of luggage problems at Heathrow. The luggage problem turned out to be SNT's suitcase, one of a few left behind. The tour party has already attracted a great deal of local interest, many have mistaken us for a more important team. L'Hotel Nina is excellent. We have the 72nd floor largely to ourselves and the rooms offer stunning panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong island beyond. The boys enjoyed a quick supper, some opting for an early chance to sample the Hong Kong cuisine, some opting disappointingly for something closer to home. Training begins early tomorrow. We hope to get the journey out of our legs and begin to prepare for our first game against Happy Valley U17.
Good to hear that the journey went well despite the luggage issues.
ReplyDeleteHong Kong is a greatbplace and I am sure the boys will have a lot of fun.
Hopefully you will all be rested when you wake up today. Understand from Douglas that not many of you did sleep well on the plane.

Glad you arrived safely. You must have an amazing view from the 72nd floor! Hope the first match went well. Enjoy the total lunar eclipse tonight, especially laid on for you, as you should have a good view from The Peak?!
